Steering group members

Sam is the Deputy Director of the Office for Veterans’ Affairs (OVA), where he is responsible for Strategy, Research and Data.  A champion of collaborative working, he is bringing together charitable, academic and government partners to put evidence at the heart of Veterans’ policy making. 

Prior to joining the OVA in January 2022, he worked in the private sector developing strategy in financial services, and implementing business change based on data and customer analysis.  He is a former Regular Officer in the Army where he worked in the UK and overseas on operations, policy and homeland resilience.  He continues to serve as an Army Reservist based in York.
