Liver Cirrhosis PSP

Liver cirrhosis represents the advanced stage of chronic liver disease, which is now the second leading cause of preventable death in the United Kingdom. Mortality rates from liver disease have increased fourfold in the past three decades and liver disease now accounts for more working years of life lost than cancer.

Liver Cirrhosis Priority Setting Partnership

At present, most treatments for liver cirrhosis are directed towards symptom control.  The PSP will work with patients, carers and clinicians to identify uncertainties for research about symptom management, active treatment and care for those living with liver cirrhosis.  The priority setting exercise is UK specific.
