Gathering uncertainties

Methods used (eg, survey, focus groups, interviews)

1. Survey 28.02.20-31.08.20 – online, plus paper/PDF versions in English, Welsh and Aphasiafriendly; all paper/PDF submissions were added to the online survey. 1407 respondents in total.

2. Workshops – 2 groups of people with aphasia, and 2 sessions with people affected at the virtual UK Stroke Assembly in July 2020. The participants at one of the aphasia groups completed individual surveys and these were added to the online survey. The questions from the other groups were added to the data set directly – a total of 33 questions from 15 people affected plus 4 carers.

3. Community Engagement - ISRAAC Somali Community Association (a registered community organisation based in Sheffield) spoke with 15 of their members who had had a stroke and gathered and presented questions in a report. 11 questions were added to the data set directly.
